ObituaryMargit Sándor Born in Budapest on January 14, 1923 to Ödön and Amalia Gábor. Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s hospital July 17, 2016. Beloved mother of George and Leslie (Nadia). Dear grandmother (Nagymama) to Kinga, Eniko, Hunor, Mark and Luke. Margit and her much loved husband, Kálmán, immigrated to Canada following WWII, raised a family and became devoted to their new community in Toronto. Margit was a talented pattern maker and cutter of skating costumes for international competitors, including Olympic champions. Her skills extended through a full range of period to contemporary costuming for CBC Television and Canadian theatre productions in a distinguished career which spanned the 1950’s through to the 1990’s. Margit’s generous nature and strength of character will be sorely missed by many. Donations in Memory of Margit can be made to the Father Jaschko’s Book Project through St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.
