Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Devoted wife of Jose and previously of the late Gil. Cherished Mom of Victor (Tina), Filomena (John), Mario (Donna), Delia (Louie), and Maria. Proud Vovo of grandchildren Cory, Jessica, Matthew, Eric, Shane, Scott, Samantha, Nicole, Tyler, Kyle, and Lucas and great-grandchildren Jayden, Austin, Isla, and Ethan. Maria will be dearly missed by Paula Costa, and her family and friends in Canada, Portugal, and United States. She will be fondly remembered for her generosity, dedication to her family and community, her amazing jokes and her beautiful laugh. She had a big heart and her legacy will live on in her children and family. Friends may visit the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst St., Toronto, on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 3-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish, 588 Adelaide St. W., Toronto on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
