Obituary

On Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, at age 95. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sarafina. Cherished father of Gregory, Maria (John Cook) and Boris. Also survived by brother-in-law Fedor Kondratchuc and other family in Canada, Ukraine and Russia. Panakhyda (prayer service) will be held Tuesday, September 15, 7:30 p.m., CARDINAL FUNERAL HOMES, ANNETTE CHAPEL, 92 Annette St., Toronto. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Orthodox Rite of Funeral to take place Wednesday, September 16, 10 a.m., St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1630 Dupont St., Toronto, M6P 3S7. Interment at Prospect Cemetery to be followed by luncheon at St. Andrew’s Church. The family expresses its gratitude to Dr. George Skocylak for unsurpassed dedication and professionalism; to Dr. Juri Reial for providing many years of superb care; to Ms. Janice Klutt RN for her expertise and advocacy, and to all the staff of Joseph’s Health Centre and Runnymede Health; and to Ms. Ewa Smektala for her unwavering and compassionate delivery of personal support services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. “The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance, and the wise will shine as the brightness of the firmament” (Psalm 112:6; Daniel 12:3).
