Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Bohdan Lypka, on Wednesday October 2nd, 2024 at home, surrounded by his loving family after a difficult battle with cancer. He was 68 years young, and  was called to join his son, father and mother in Heaven. Bohdan was known for his strong will, unwavering determination, expert renovation skills, love and support for his family and friends. He was an avid athlete that led him to the Montreal Olympics in 1976 to play for the Canadian Handball team. He was an active member of the Ukraina Soccer Club of Toronto and founder of the  Great Lakes Soccer Cup tournament since 1995. His love for his career in the aeronautical field, led him to De Havilland, Boeing and Bombardier, which took him to 43 years of service. In 2021, Bohdan retired and loved to spend his time playing with his grandkids, fishing at the cottage and always had a building project on the go. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations may be made to St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Oakville

Dear Lypka Family, I'm so saddened to hear that Pan Lypka has passed away. He was such a good hearted man. I will always remember his & Dan's kind smiles at the events I worked at with them as security. They always brought so much professionalism to any situation and had great work ethics. May they both rest in peace! I unfortunately will not be able to attend the funeral as I'm currently living out of province. Thoughts and prayers are with your beautiful family. My deepest condolences to you all. Take care of one a another!

Dearest Helen & Family: Adrienne and Tom are extremely saddened to hear that Bob has left us. Bob was a hard worker and a passionate and good man and he always did his very best for and gave his all to all of his family and friends. While Bob has now left this earth to be in God's hands, please know that his departure is only temporary. There will come a day for Helen, for Alex, and for Bob's entire family when they will once again see him and be with him.....and, at that time, it will be beautiful....it will be joyous....and it will be forever! May God Bless all of you during this sad time. Helen and Alex...you continue to be in our thoughts....and our prayers are poignant and plentiful. Please know that you are in our hearts. With love and sympathy, Adrienne Crawford and Tom Petirs
