Some people walk this earth quietly, making a lasting impression on the people they meet. On November 23, 2023, Carlos Augusto Torrão was called to the service of Our Lord and rejoined his heavenly family and friends. He passed away peacefully with family by his side. Devoted husband of Arnaldina (Dina) for 55 years. Beloved father of Sylvia and Nelson. Proud grandfather/vovo of Justin and Adrian. Carlos will be dearly missed by his family and friends in Canada and Portugal.

He will be fondly remembered for his quiet strength and spontaneous wit. His work ethic knew no bounds, as he left Portugal for a better life in Canada, eventually bringing his wife and starting a family in this foreign place which over time became home. A man of few words, he consistently demonstrated pride of workmanship in the quality of his work, happiness in his home, and deep love for his family through thick and thin. The neighbourhood won’t be the same without Carlos patrolling the streets and laneways, hands behind his back, greeting familiar faces in a friendly way, always the gentleman.
