Obituary

Emidio Antonio Nunes passed away peacefully on July 18, 2011 at Princess Margaret Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Manuel Antonio and Margarida Nunes. Beloved husband to Elvira Santos Nunes for 50 years. Loving father to Sandra and her husband Val, and Anabela. Cherished deeply by grandson Cristian. Loving brother to Piadade Da Costa, Ludovina De Jesus and his late sister Maria De Jesus Nunes. Brother-in-law Americo De Jesus, Americo Da Costa, and Marcelino Da Silva. He will truly be missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada and Portugal. Family and friends will be received at the Cardinal Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 5-9 p.m and Friday July 22, 2011 from 5-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, on Saturday July 23rd at 9:30 a.m., with interment following at Prospect Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital or to the 2010 Mustangs team taking part in the Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer benefiting Princess Margaret Hospital.
