José Augusto Simões dos Santos

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of José Augusto Simões dos Santos, who passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2025, at the age of 93.

José was an honest and devoted family man with a unique sense of humour who lived a life full of love and laughter. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 70 years, Maria de Lourdes, his eldest son Victor and his partner Peter, and his youngest son Steven, his wife Elisabeth, and their children Kaitlyn, Stephanie, and Roman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cardinal Funeral Homes - Bathurst. His funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12th, at St. Agnes Church, located at Dundas Street West & Grace Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in José's memory.
