Joe will always be a part of our neighbourhood and a fixture of my childhood. Joe was ALWAYS on his porch at 350 Gladstone Ave., which meant almost daily conversations as his next-door neighbour. From there, Joe watched the neighbourhood boys (including three of his own) grow up. Those conversations became less frequent as I got older and moved away, but more rich as time went on. I will miss our afternoon watchman, a kind man, father, and husband to Maria. My heart is with you, neighbours. All my love and earnest condolences.
