Obituary

With profound sadness, the family of Lazaro Feliz Afonso announces that he passed away peacefully at home on Saturday May 21, 2022 at the age of 85. Predeceased by his beloved wife Adorinda, his son Basilio and his first born baby girls Luisa and Isabel.  Lazaro is survived by his son Domingos, his daughter Maria Infancia (Mario) and his doting grandchildren Dimitri, Adam, Daniel and Julia.

Lazaro was born in Portugal to Domingos Augusto Afonso and Mariana De Jesus Formariz on February 11, 1937, a little brother to Manuel, Jose and Abel, sister Isabel was born two years later. In October 1972 he came to Canada to seek a better life for his family. He worked hard and prospered but his pride and joy was his family, the brightest twinkle in his eyes was when he played with his grandchildren.
Friends and family may call at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette Street, on Wednesday May 25, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Funeral mass on Thursday May 26, 2022 at 10:00am at St Helen's Roman Catholic Church, 1680 Dundas Street West. Burial to follow at Prospect Cemetery, 1450 St. Clair Ave West.
