Obituary
It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved Father, Avô, Great-Grandfather, Uncle, Great-Uncle and God Father. Mariano passed peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, Ontario on Wednesday February 8, 2023.Mariano was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Ilda (nee Correia), grandsons Brian Moniz, and Adam (Shannon) Snow. He was greatly loved and will be missed by sons, David (Denise) and Mario; grandchildren David JR and Chantele Moniz; Lindsay (Brian) Snow-Stewart; his eight great grandchildren, JD and Joseph Moniz; Lachlan, Cash and Matilda Snow-Stewart and Jack, Nash and Lily Snow.
Dear brother of the late Manuel, Evaristo, Maria dos Anjos, Maria Jose, Serafim, David and Diniz. He will be greatly missed by his relatives, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, god children and friends from around the world.
He was a family man who would help anyone who needed it from personal loans to sponsorship. He would house anyone that required shelter. He had a good heart.
Resting at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto, where the family will receive friends for a time of visitation to be held on Monday February 13, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday February 14, 2023; at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Credit. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Oak Ridges Hospice.

nossos mais profundos sentimentos pela partida do nosso tio Mariano, tivemos alguns momentos muito feliz quando estivemos no Canadá em 2008, Ele relembrou de vária situações que aconteceram com ele e meu pai Evaristo, quando moravam nos Açores, com meu tio Manoel também, Ele comentava com alegria estas lembranças, fiquei muito feliz com estas lembranças, Ele também era muito querido entre nós, Família Moniz, eu José Maria Moniz, minha esposa Izilda França Moniz, meus filhos, Cesar Augusto Moniz e Ana Carolina Moniz que Ele chegou a conhecer quando estiveram aqui no Brasil, meus filhos ficaram muito contentes com a vinda dos tios, de tão longe para conhecer-nos , o Cesar e a Ana, estavam sempre ao lado dele, pois ele também os tratavam com muito carinho, minhas irmãs a Fátima e a Cristina, também, mandam seus sentimentos para toda a Família, estamos tristes com a partida dele, porém, conservamos os momentos que passamos juntos com alegria em nossos corações, que Deus Abençoe a todos e conforte os corações da Família, um forte abraço a todos

Sending our heartfelt condolences to my cousins David and Mario, Denise, David Junior and Chantele on the passing of Padrinho Mariano.
Padrino Mariano was a big part of my life. I will miss him. He was the last of my Dad's siblings to pass. This is a very sad time for the Moniz Family as a whole.
Rest in Peace Padrinho Mariano. You are now with your beloved wife Madrinha Ilda.
