In Loving Memory of Sang Duong
Sang Duong, age 55, of Toronto, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 22nd, 2024. Born in Bac Lieu, Vietnam on July 20th, 1969, Sang Duong was a beloved uncle, cherished friend and devoted brother. He was a pillar of love, strength and kindness in his family as the youngest of five brothers and three sisters.
Sang Duong grew up in Bac Lieu and immigrated to Canada on April 2, 1980. He studied at the School of Architectural Studies at George Brown to earn his diploma and pursue his dreams of becoming an Architect. For 28 years, he went on to work in Guest Services at the Rogers Center, formerly known as the Skydome, where he was known for his kindness towards his colleagues, loyalty and punctual nature.
Outside of work, Sang loved treating his family and friends to gifts, coffee, lunches, dinner and experiences all around Toronto. He was known for his infectious smile and unmatched ability to tell a vivid story and remember specific details, dates and historical events. In a room full of people, Sang had a special ability to make anyone around him feel loved and special.
Sang enjoyed playing the lottery, watching WWF, Dr. Phil and Jeopardy, and sending friends and family interesting and funny anecdotes on Facebook. He was determined to win the lottery and to share his fortunes with his family.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Thanh Tran, Du Duong, Phuong Duong; his loving brothers, Pheo Duong, Minh Duong, Khen Duong and Cuong Duong; his favourite nephews Long Duong, Andrew Nguyen, Thong Duong, Dat Duong, Danny Duong, Brian Nguyen, Tony Tran, Stephen Duong, Peter Tran, William Tran, Anthony Tran, Ryan Duong, ; his favourite nieces, Kim Duong, Cam Duong, Mylene Jampanoi, Linda Duong, Salina Duong, Jennifer Nguyen, Sandra Duong, and Leanna Duong; and his favourite cousins and grand nieces and grand nephews. Sang Duong was a beloved individual and took immense pride in his family. He played a significant role in each of their lives, offering wisdom and support with all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Monday July 29th, 2024 from 11am - 2pm EST at Cardinal Funeral Home located 92 Annette St, Toronto, ON M6P 1N6.
Though his family is heartbroken by his unexpected passing, his family asks for Sang to be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to others in life, and not the sadness of his passing. Sang Duong’s legacy of kindness, generosity and joy will continue to live forever in our hearts and inspire us every day.
Rest in the Buddhist Kingdom, dear Sang. You will be deeply missed
