Obituary

It was with profound and devastating sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Wayne Hartley Schmidt on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in his 71st year.

Beloved Husband of Claire Chiba; Loving Father of Tabatha (Michael), Jason (Susie). Dear Grandfather of Simon, Malcolm, Luke, Jake, Jayla, Samantha, Elizabeth, and Trinity. Close Brother to Earl (Nancy), Allan (Wendy), Marlene (Mike) and Kurt. Favourite Uncle of Michael, Gregory, Aaron, Andrew, Joshua, and Darcel. Warmhearted Brother-in-law of Vincent Chiba (Joyce), Charlotte (Richard), and Ted (Shanta). Dear Uncle of Will Shintani (Alice) and Michele (Chris). Dearly beloved Angel/Nephew of Sumire Shintani. Wayne is remembered with love by the Piette Family and many friends. He is predeceased by both parents, Jake and Louise Schmidt.

A private cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday March 23rd, 2024 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Roncesvalles United Church. Entrance to the Church can be located at 214 Wright Avenue Toronto, Ontario M6R 1L3.
