It is with profound sadness and inconsolable heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved Wayne Shears age 56, born July 2nd, 1966 and has passed away on November 15th, 2022.Loving Son to the late John and Phyllis Shears. Devoted Husband to his loving wife Ana Shears. Beloved Father to Jordan and his wife Alysia Brunette, Chelsea, Sydney, and Elijah Shears. Proud grandfather of Riley Shears. Brother of Sharon, Diane, Brenda, Susan, Ricky, and Tammy. He will be reunited with his parents and siblings Johnny, Leslie, Nora, Caroline, and Judy. He is loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, November 20th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Cardinal Funeral Homes, 366 Bathurst St., Toronto. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 21st, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Santa Crus Portuguese Catholic Church. Private Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stoke Foundation.

Ana, Jordan, Chelsea, Sydney, Elijah, and the whole Shears family, I’m so very sorry to learn about Wayne’s passing. Thinking of him Always brings a smile to my face and an automatic look up as he’s so tall.

Ana, sincere condolences for the passing of Uncle Wayne. For the time I knew him I’ve only known him to be an easy going, kind and really solid man of his word. He will be missed, but he has left a strong legacy that will live on through the kids.

I love and miss you pops. Not a day will go by where I don't miss you. Little Missy - Mississippi - Misses stinky misses you too. She sleeps in your spot hoping you come home for a soup and pet. We all love and miss you. The world has been robbed of the greatest husband, dad, gampy, and best friend.
Gunna miss the 'who dat' texts. Going to miss talking to you about the habs and the developments. The kids look alright this year.
This is NOT a good bye, but a see you later. I know you're watching over us now and that you're in a better place. Your guidance and wisdom will live on in my heart and everyone else's.

So loved, so appreciated and gone from us way to soon. Such a strong, quiet & respectful man. As kids, I believed Wayne's quiet demeanor was a weakness. As adults, Wayne had me realize quiet was one of his strengths. Wayne was appreciated by so many people. I remember I was at a golf tournament in Uxbridge, a guy saw my name & asked me if I knew Wayne Shears. My son was assigned a hockey trainer as a young player, the trainer asked me if I was related to Wayne Shears. The trainer was a retired Minnesota North Star, that played ball hockey with Wayne. I'm sure my memories will always include Wayne whenever I think about our days as kids growing up & the family gatherings as adults. I will miss talking with him.

Wayne was a well liked man by everyone and I know he loved his family so , so , much and he was such a Amazing grandfather that Ana , Wayne took care of their grandson Riley . He will be truly missed . My heart goes out to his family through this difficult difficult time.
