Obituary

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, Andrea passed away at home, at the age of 48, surrounded by her beloved husband Bill, her cherished parents Orysia and Stefan Lejbiuk and her much loved sister Oksana Lejbiuk. Andrea will be deeply missed by her family and leaves behind her sister-in-law Kelly Cabral (Dennis), her uncle Bill (Jeanette), her aunts Oksana, Marika (Walter), Bodhanna (Terry) and Oksana (Slavko) and her cousins Matei, Peter, Tamara, Stefan, Markian, Ulana, Andrew, Michael and Taisa and her ever-faithful canine companion and assistant Fitz.

Andrea pursued many passions: Pysanky painting, sewing, crocheting, crafting, gardening, and bedazzling. She put her own creative and dramatic stamp on everything she did. With a flair for organizing, Andrea spent countless hours planning her and Bill's many European adventures, which always included elaborate professional photo shoots. She was equally adept at planning extended family gatherings in her garden, and in Niagara Falls. Her brined turkey was a specialty.

As a successful mortgage agent, Andrea had a vast network of colleagues and clients who will miss her dogged dedication to the best terms possible. Her mentor, Caroline Callero, encouraged Andrea early in her career and continued to be supportive of Andrea throughout.

In the last eight years of her life, Andrea faced many health challenges. She remained positive and amazed her family and friends when, even in the hardest of times, she was thinking of others ahead of herself. Andrea inspired all of those around her with her funky fashion sense, her strength, courage and indomitable spirit.

In keeping with Andrea's wishes, there will be a private family ceremony. A celebration of Andrea's life will be held later in the summer, in her much loved garden.

Andrea, we will miss you and your quirky sense of humor. You brought joy to many and your bright spirit will shine eternally.

I was truly saddened to hear about Andrea. I consider myself lucky to have been touched by her friendship. We didn't speak/meet often, but when we did, it was always an inspiring and fun experience, even when we were crunching hopeless mortgage numbers. She was patient, kind and her positive nature was infectious. The space she had in her heart was enormous, and generous. I loved that globetrotting to places like Prague and Paris didn't stop her from being available and connecting. She was wise beyond her years, and had no shortage of clever advice, which I will always carry with me. I will truly miss her, and send my deepest condolences to Bill, and the Lejbiuk/Lockerby family. Please don't hesitate to connect if there's anything I can do.

Andrea was a spectaular creation. Full of light, and most certainly kindness and love. She was one of the most dexterously creative souls I've ever known. Her moral compass was true north, her sense of humour her strength, and her giving was her super power. Andrea, wore her heart on her sleeve and the world was a better place because of it. I have and will continute to cherish the wisdom and memories experienced through her. Sending you all enormous amounts of love and strength while you journey through this exceptionally difficult time. Please, keep my email for The Celebration of Life information, and to volunteer to help with any planning, pick ups or errands. All my love. Kim
