Obituary

The world lost a beloved mother, Carrie Farries, on Saturday, July 30, 2022.  Carrie battled lung cancer courageously and with incredible grace.  She died in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Carrie loved her family intensely and stopped at nothing to help make their lives better in any way possible. Carrie will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by her husband of 52 years,  Chris.  Loving mother of James, Cindy (Mike) and Christine (predeceased).  Proud grandmother of Meghan, Kate (Connor) and Christopher. Caring sister of Jack (Marilyn predeceased) and loving aunt of Debbie (predeceased) and Glen.  Carrie will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Carrie loved to experience life with her family. Her favourite memories include trips to Wonderland, Toronto Island and other local attractions with her grandchildren over the years.  She loved her annual visits to the CNE, a tradition that started when she, herself, was a child.  Carrie was known to celebrate all her family members with caring birthday party gatherings every year where silly string played a big role in the festivities. Carrie truly enjoyed going to the movies and had a weekly movie date with her brother, Jack, for many, many years. Carrie's most treasured moments were her excursions with her husband to visit the geese and swans by the lake.  Interacting with nature with her loving husband by her side brought her immeasurable joy.

There will be a private interment ceremony for the immediate family in the near future.
