PONESSE, Concetta (nee Mastrangelo) February 10, 1902 - March 12, 2005 - Legendary homemaker, matriarch and protectress, contentedly in her 104th year. Married to the late Joseph Ponesse; mother of the late Thomas, his wife Sylvia (Divinec); grandmother to their children Paula May, Ann Marie, Christopher and the late Michael; great-grandmother to Tia, Julia and Jackson. Auntie to Jean (Churchill), her late husband Bert and their children Bill, Steven, Christine, Ronald and Tony; great auntie grandma to their children. Guardian foster mom to many.Joining those gone before her - parents Giuseppe and Maddalena, 7 sisters, 3 brothers, relatives and friends - in a rousing game of cards, after the bedding is shaken and provisions procured by bundle buggy. We are all enlivened and inspired by her life and example, and so blessed she came our way. Always with us, forever part of us... In memory, be strong and true and sparkle with goodwill and life force, even if darkening forces conspire to dim it. Friends may call at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street (near Dundas) on Wednesday from 3-5:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Complete Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Church (Bathurst and Bloor) on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a celebration and sharing of her life. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
