Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Diane on July 9, 2016 at Toronto Western Hospital. Beloved wife of Joe and loving mother to Christian Raposo. Cherished daughter of Mario and Maria Medeiros. Dear sister of Elizabeth (Nick) and loved aunt of nieces Taylor and Grace. Diane is also survived by father and mother-in-law Antonio and Eba Raposo, sister-in-law Eba (Giulio) and brother-in-law Emanuel. Taken too soon, she will also be missed by many aunts, uncles and counsins, both here and in the United States. A kind and gentle soul who loved nothing better than spending time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the CCU at Toronto Western Hospital for the wonderful care given to Diane. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation is made to The Critical Care Unit at Toronto Western Hospital to be made in Diane's memory. Visitation will take place on Wednesday July 13, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street, north of Dundas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 72 Mansfield Avenue, south of College. Entombment to follow at Prospect Cemetery.Visitation

When I heard of Diane's passing it really struck home. My daughter lost her husband due to a brain tumour last year. She also has a young daughter to raise. They have turned the page and eventually you will too.

I am so sad to hear about Diane passing away.
My Mom had a stroke 2 years ago (she was 60),was revived 30 minutes later by paramedics, and passed away a year later after being in a vegetative state for a full year. It was not easy on my family, but I did find solace in the fact she is in a better place vs. continuing in her suffering living. She is at peace.
I am sure it is not easy for you, and not sure if you can relate to my personal experience. What I can say though is, what you and your family may be going through is tragic, it's her memory that will eventually erase all sorrow and bring closure.
My condolences, prayers and best wishes for you, your family and your wife as she rests in peace. Her body may be gone, but her spirit will remain through your family.
