Obituary

Evangelina Correia was born to Joao de Sousa and Evangelina do Rosario Pexias on October 23, 1931 in Ponta Garca, St. Miguel, Azores, Portugal.  At 21 years old she married Alfredo Correia who was 29 years old.  They immigrated to Canada in 1954.  They had two children, Pauline the eldest and Alison the younger child.  Both Evangelina and Alfredo worked at St. Michael's hospital.  Evangelina retired after 30+ years of service.  Evangelina has 2 grandchildren from her youngest daughter Alison.  Kayla 33 and Brendan 30 years old. Her oldest daughter Pauline passed on December 6, 2023.  In Evangelina's younger years she enjoyed driving to the farms and picking apples and berries.  She loved country music and visits to the flea markets.  She enjoyed being out in nature and adored flowers and the birds.  She crocheted everything from table cloths to bedspreads to baby blankets.  Evangelina is known for her loving big heart.  Other than her grandchildren, her greatest joy in life was giving and helping others in need.
