Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Downie-Bosco

June 23, 1957 - March 10, 2025

Beloved Wife, Mother, and Adventurer

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Helen Downie-Bosco, who left this world too soon but with a life beautifully lived. She passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind her devoted husband, John Bosco, and her cherished son, Christopher-Giovanni Bosco.

Helen was a woman of extraordinary intelligence, curiosity, and grace. She possessed a boundless passion for travel, embracing the world with an open heart and a keen mind. From her frequent trips to Europe with her husband to her Camino de Santiago with her son, she found joy in every journey.

Her brilliance shone in everything she did, from her profound wisdom to the way she made those around her feel seen and valued. Helen was not just a traveler of the world but also of the mind, always eager to learn, explore, and share.

Her absence leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Princess Margaret Hospital or a favourite charity.

May she rest in peace, and may her next journey be one of eternal light and love.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to all of Helen's family. I knew Helen and her family since I was young. We lived in the same neighborhood. Even though I had seven siblings Helen was like another big sister. Helen was always a kind, generous and thoughtful person. She always had that beautiful smile that I will always remember. Even though the years had passed and we lost touch we recently re-connected on facebook. Unfortunately only to learn of her fight with cancer. You meant a lot to me Helen💜May you Rest In Peace my friend. I always loved you. Fly high with the angels🙏🙏 Brenda De Graaf (Bell)

My condolences to your entire family. I met Helen at work in the Student Travel Industry. We got to talking and found out we attended the same high school, York Memorial but in different years. Helen had a warm and kind smile. She was a gift and I do appreciate her fb post urging women to advocate for their health screening. Again, my sincere condolences to your family.
