Jaroslawa “Sylvia” Bodnar

Passed away peacefully at Scarborough Birchmount Hospital. In her 90th year

Predeceased by her husband of 38 years Peter “Petro” Dear mother of son John Dyl (wife Pamela) and daughter Maria Bodnar Loving grandmother of Michael (wife Rachel), Steven (wife Jessica), and Peter Great grandmother of Connor, Noah and Kiera Loving aunt of Margaret Dyl Beloved sister of her late brothers Walter and Joseph and sister Sophia Dear loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and family in Poland.

Sylvia was devout in her catholic faith, praying often, attending mass and contributing to the less fortunate through a number of charities. She loved cooking, baking and spending time taking care of her garden. Some of her favorite memories included time at the cottage in Wasaga Beach, day trips to Martyrs Shrine in Midland, Ancaster and Camp Veselka.

Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Homes 92 Annette St, Toronto May 8th 4:00 PM - 8:30 PM Funeral Mass will be held at St Demetrius the Great Martyr Parish 135 La Rose Ave, Toronto May 9th 10:00 AM Interment will take place at Glendale Cemetery 1810 Albion Rd, Toronto 11:50 AM Gathering of family and friends to celebrate Sylvia’s life will be held at St Demetrius the Great Martyr Parish hall at 1:15 PM
