Obituary

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 89. Loving wife of the late Jose for over 40 years. Beloved mother of Cremilde (late Antonio Martins), Carmina (Dave), Almerinda (John De Sousa), Maria (late Alfred Sousa), and Nelia Da Silva. Proud Vavó of 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Julieta will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humour and ability to make others laugh, delicious meals cooked with love, skillful knitting and crocheting, and her beautiful garden. Julieta had a close relationship with her darling dogs, Spencer and Oliver, who were like grandchildren to her – we can still joyfully hear her calling to the boys, “sit on Vavó’s lap!” She was a warm and kind woman with a legacy that lives on in all of those who loved and were loved by her.

Donations in memory of Julieta may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
