Obituary

In Loving Memory It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Laura Cimbron on April 5, 2024, surrounded by her children Peter (Joanne), Rene (Angela), and Eduarda (Dave) at Eatonville Care Centre. Beloved wife of 48 years to Victor Cimbron (pre-deceased) will now reunite in Heaven. Cherished Avó/Nonna to Daniel (Daniella), Leanna (Anthony), Jake, Julian, Lauren and Victoria. Great Grandmother to Stefano, Sophia, Milena, Selina, and Nico. Laura was born in Lagoa, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal on January 25, 1939. She was the daughter of João and Maria Teresa Sousa and a loving sister to Cecilia, Manuel, Isabel, and John (pre-deceased). There, she met our father, Victor, the love of her life, and they were married on November 22, 1959. In 1961, with an 11-month-old baby in tow, she arrived in Canada to begin her new life. Not speaking a word of English and carrying a Portuguese to English translation booklet, she managed to get to Toronto. There, she would wait at a friend's home for our Dad to come and together made the trip to Tillsonburg, Ontario. They lived in Tillsonburg for a few years while Dad worked on the farm and eventually settled in Toronto, Ontario. She was a hard-working, incredibly strong, independent, and caring woman. It was these qualities that made her extra special. When frequently asked by staff members of Eatonville, "How are you doing, Laura?" the answer most often would be, "Day by Day" or "One Day at a Time." She succumbed to her illness after several years of living with Parkinson's Disease. She will be greatly missed and held in our hearts forever. Rest In Peace- Descanse em Paz Mom-Mãe
