Obituary

With profound sorrow and much love in our hearts, we announce the passing of Liberia Maria Moniz Correia. Peacefully, with her loving family by her side, at St. Michael’s Hospital on June 12, 2023, our beloved angel Liberia was called home to God at the age of 84, following a brief, but courageous battle with breast cancer. Devoted wife of the late Guilherme Correia for 58 years, married September 12, 1960 and now reunited in Heaven. Dear mother of George Correia and Olga Correia, whose love will forever be deeply imprinted on their hearts. Cherished grandmother to Megan Correia, Ryan Correia, and Amber Correia, who will be fondly remembered for her unconditional love and care, warmth and generosity. Liberia was lovingly dedicated to her family, loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including her nieces, nephews, and siblings whom she all loved. May she rest in eternal peace. The family extends their heart-felt gratitude for the care and compassion given by the St. Michael’s team. Visitations will take place at Cardinal Funeral Home “Bathurst Chapel” (366 Bathurst St. 416-603-1444) on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Parish (15 Grace St.). Entombment to follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St. Clair Ave W.) If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
