Obituary

Maria Alice Francisco, beloved daughter of the late Maria and Jesuino Jeronimo. She leaves her devoted and beloved husband Antonio Francisco.  Alice was born in Serra do Bouro, Portugal and migrated at a young age to Canada. Many holidays were shared with her late aunt and uncle, Alice and Arthur Martins. She will be greatly missed by her cousin Joe Martins who shared many life moments and family gatherings. Joe and Alice were more like siblings than cousins as they grew up together. Alice loved to bake and cook for all of her friends and families. She enjoyed taking care of her flower beds here and in Portugal. Her many visits to Portugal with her husband, was a time she enjoyed spending with family and friends there. She loved to reconnect to her roots and she loved having a “galao” at the Sao Martinho shoreline cafes and shopping in Caldas da Rainha. She had a flare for fashion and clothes.  Alice was a kind generous person who welcomed Joe’s wife, Susan into the family. Her fondness and love for Joe and Susan’s children, Jason, Melissa and Kyle left a lasting impression on them which they will always hold dear to their hearts. They were her pride and joy.  She would make “filhoses", arroz doce and her soup which they loved. We are all saddened for her loss and we will miss her smile and caring nature. God has chosen this as your time, but we will remember all the wonderful moments that you filled each and everyone of us with. May you rest in peace.
