Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts  that the family of Maria Dupak Beskidnyj announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on August 7, 2023 at the age of 99. She left this world surrounded by her family who loved her dearly and will miss her forever.
Maria was born in Snovychi, Ukraine on July 10, 1924 to a large, rural family. She lived throughout Europe before moving to Canada in 1951.
Maria was a proud Ukrainian-Canadian who loved both countries and fiercely preserved her heritage. Big Sunday lunches with her family were most cherished along with her friends and garden.
Predeceased by her husband, Iwan Beskidnyj, left to mourn are her daughter Anna Therrien, son Stefan Beskidnyj(Sandy), grandchildren Lisa Martinez, Andre Therrien(Angel), Michele Wood, Cameron Beskidny, Nicholas Beskidny as well as her beloved great grandchildren, Elena Martinez and Veronica Martinez.
Visitation to be held on Sunday August 13 2023 at Cardinal Funeral Home(Bathurst chapel, 366 Bathurst St.) from 2-4pm and
6-9pm with Panachyda at 7pm.
Funeral to be held at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church(4 Bellwoods Ave.) on Monday August 14, 2023 at 10am.
Internment to follow at St. Volodymyr cemetery(1280 Dundas St West, Oakville) with reception to follow.
