Obituary
Mariannina Mariconda - With heartbreaking sadness, Mariannina passed away peacefully in hospital after a brief illness on January 10, 2023.
Mariannina, beloved wife of the late Lorenzo and cherished mother of the late Irene; Filomena (Manny), Giuseppe, Amalia and Eduardo. Cherished grandmother of Nina-Marie (Nermin), Nathan (Erica), Rose-Lee, Ashleigh, Stefani-Jo and Lorenzo-Taylor. Great-grandmother of Edin Joseph, Nove Jackson, Amelia and Madelyn. Loving sister to the late Pellegrino; Savario and Salvatore.
Mariannina was born on January 23, 1931 in Serino. In 1953, she wed the love of her life, Lorenzo. A year later, they moved to Canada and started a new life together which had them sharing more than 65 years of loving memories made with family and friends. She was the proud proprietor of Robinson Grocery, a cornerstone of the community, from 1965 to 1985.
Mariannina was devoted to her family and could often be found watching her church services with great passion as well as her Toronto Raptors.
She was a beloved wife, mother, Nonna, Bisnonna, and sister. Mariannina will be deeply missed by everyone including her many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Friends may call at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street (North of Dundas), on Sunday, January 15th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 16th at 9:45 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (588 Adelaide Street West). Entombment to follow at Prospect Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome or donations to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
She loved all and she was loved by all. Rest in peace, until we meet again.
