Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Natalia Jakubowsky, who passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
Natalia was born on July 8, 1933, in the small town of Hayii  in Poland, to her loving parents, Andriy and Maria Stan. She lived a life marked by faith, resilience, generosity, and devotion to her family and community.
Natalia was predeceased by her beloved husbands, Ivan (Dacko) and Illia, and by her cherished sons, George and Walter (Dacko). She leaves behind her loving children, Daria (Oldrich Zatka) and John (Lily Hordienko). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren: Matthew (Meghan), Cassandra, Luke, and Mark, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Natalia's greatest gift was her love for family. She was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother whose home was always warm, welcoming, and filled with laughter. She took great pleasure in hosting family and friends and was happiest when cooking and sharing meals with those she loved.
A woman of deep faith, Natalia was a lifelong and devoted member of her church community and was actively involved in parish life. Her faith guided her throughout her life and provided strength, comfort, and purpose.
In her later years, Natalia resided at St. Demetrius Residence before moving to Ivan Franko Home in Etobicoke, where she enjoyed the final chapter of her life. There she continued to share her joyful spirit, participating in singing, dancing, and social activities that brought happiness to both herself and those around her.
Natalia loved life. She had a contagious laugh, a radiant smile, and an ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Her kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit touched all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff, caregivers, and volunteers at Ivan Franko Home for the incredible care, compassion, and dignity they showed Natalia over the years. She was treated not simply as a resident, but as a cherished member of the family, and for that we will be forever grateful. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre for their care, kindness, and support during her time spent there.
Though she will be deeply missed, Natalia will forever be remembered with love, gratitude, and a smile.
