Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Natalie Pasij. Natalie led a very long and meaningful life always putting the needs of others ahead of her own.
Natalie was a loving wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent her life devoted to her family, her faith and her Ukrainian heritage. She could often be found in the kitchen preparing all of the traditional Ukrainian dishes making sure everyone had more than enough to eat or otherwise helping to raise her only grandson, the apple of her eye. Supporting her Ukrainian heritage was a very important part of her life. Natalie spent countless hours of volunteer work at her church and within her community. She cared for the elderly residents of the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre who she referred to with the greatest respect and empathy as 'the poor souls" and travelled as far away as the orphanages in Ukraine with Help Us Help the Children to bring them much needed supplies.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre and to Anna, Natalie's personal caregiver and friend, for the exemplary care, kindness and compassion they provided over the past six years.
A visitation will be held in the chapel at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre on Friday, March 1st from 10 - 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service to celebrate Natalie's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre at 60 Richview Road, Toronto Ontario M9A 5E4 or to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
