Dearest Jose, Luisa, Phillip and Dennis,
I was really hoping that I could be with you in the morning for the funeral for your dear Mother. But a cold has taken hold of me and as much as I think I could drive down, I certainly don't want to risk passing it onto to you Jose. So please know that you and all your family Jose are in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow morning. I will attend Mass here on Tuesday evening and offer it up for your Mother. I will always remember her fondly from my trip to Portugal, she was so gracious and kind to me, enjoyed every moment of being with her. May she now be out of pain and with your father and the angels in Heaven. May God strengthen you all for tomorrow and in the days to come and fill you with his peace as you remember your Mother.
