Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zelia Tavares on March 30th, 2023. Zelia departed into the arms of our Heavenly Father in peace and prayer, surrounded by family who so dearly loves her. Zelia battled many health challenges over the course of her life, confronting each challenge with tremendous faith, courage, dignity and the strong will to overcome every obstacle and continue to live life to the fullest. Zelia was a soft spoken, kind and compassionate person whose heart and mind was always open to listen to others and provide words of comfort when needed. She loved to be with her family and friends in celebration or in quiet conversation. Zelia had very strong faith in our Lord and great conviction and trust in God’s plan for her life. There are no words that can describe how much Zelia will be missed and the void that is forever in our hearts.
Zelia is survived by her husband Dario Sampaio, her sisters Margaret Miranda (Joseph Miranda) and Filomena Tavares, her brothers Robert Tavares (Alda Tavares) and Joe Tavares (Stacey Tavares) and her beloved nieces and nephews Katherine Ledo, Diane Ledo, Brittany Miranda, Joshua Dos Santos, Brandon Tavares and Jaden Ledo.
Zelia is preceded in death by her baby daughter Rosemary Sampaio, her nephew Daniel Dos Santos, her parents Jose and Maria Tavares and her sister Nelia Dos Santos.
In lieu of flowers, a donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Kidney Foundation are greatly appreciated in Zelia’s memory.
