“Due to the current pandemic restrictions and under direction from our regulator, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, effective November 14, 2020 all funerals and visitations will be by invitation only to limit the number of people in attendance and prevent the spread of COVID-19. We encourage those that are unable to attend in person to express their sympathy by posting a message of condolence to our website, donating to a charity of your choice in memory of your loved one or by sending flowers to the funeral home.”

Olena (Lesia) Cherniawski

Born 23 December 1968 in Toronto, Canada

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lesia Cherniawski on 29 November 2020, after a protracted illness.  She was dearly loved mother of Christian Grittani, and sister of Bohdan Cherniawski.

Services will be held in private, limited to close family due to COVID 19 protective measures.

Survived by:

• • Son – Christian Grittani and girlfriend Emily
  • Brother – Bohdan Cherniawski, fiancee Helen Turyk
  • Aunts and Uncles:
    • Marusha Krawec, Slawka Balaura, Mike and Luba Kalymon;
  • Cousins:
    • Victor and Tanya Cherniawski, Orest Cherniawski, Peter Cherniawski and Helen Peklych;
    • Christine Krawec, Nadia Krawec & Paul DaSilva, Sonia Krawec, Lidia Krawec and Jeff;
    • Andrij and Elana Balaura, Nadia and Paul Zmiyiwsky;
    • Danny and Jessica Kalymon, Tanya Kalymon and Paul Thrope, Natalka and Mike Mamoliti;
    • and business partner, Yaroslav Olenych
  • and other relatives in Canada and Ukraine.

Lesia spent many summers at Camp Veselka as a child and spent numerous weekends convalescing there.
