Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Reuben Alexander Lynch, who left us peacefully on April 14, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at Toronto General Hospital. He was 70 years old.
Beloved partner of Joanne (Joni) Alexander, devoted brother of Jean, Kenfield (Shirley), Gerwood, and Michael (Pamela). Predeceased by his brother Steve and parents Blanche (Jones) Lynch and Reuben Lynch Sr. Reuben will be dearly remembered by his nieces and nephew Sharon, Shalyne, Tanya, and Steven, cousins from the Jones, Batson, Thomas, Sealy, and Bills families, and many dear friends who became like family.
Born in Ville St. Michel, Montreal, Reuben lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and love. He found happiness in family gatherings, travelling, music, theatre, and enjoying a good story or joke with friends. A lifelong sports lover, he played hockey in his youth and later became an avid golfer who relished his time spent on the golf course.
Reuben built a successful career in finance and banking, primarily working for the Bank of Montreal (BMO) until his retirement. His early work experience with the bank was in Montreal and Winnipeg. He settled in the Toronto area in 1990 where he held a number of senior Banking Manager positions over the years. In addition to his formidable professional achievements, Reuben will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the lasting friendships he formed wherever he went. His warmth, humour, and positive spirit touched countless lives.
